Printing 4 pages on one A4 - Castrén & Snellman

Reducing paper consumption - Castren & Snellman, WWF's Green Office example 2012

When we at Castrén & Snellman Attourneys Ltd decided to apply for the Green Office certification, we arranged an open dialogue meeting for the entire personnel. This meeting was also attended by Helka Julkunen from WWF Finland. In this meeting, we also discussed how to reduce our paper consumption.

We pondered whether we should start printing on both sides of the paper or whether we could be able to cut down our consumption even more by printing four pages on one A4. We all decided together that we would start printing four pages per one A4. This was set as a default on all of our printers.

Our commitment has paid off. In 2008, we used approximately 3,200 reams of paper. After the change in 2012, our consumption dropped to 2,000 reams, i.e. we have reduced our paper consumption by approximately 1,200 reams.
